This course for adults offers a natural, step-by-step approach to learning everyday spoken Chinese in a warm and supportive small-group setting. The course builds on the previous Chinese Taster Courses. Basic knowledge of greetings, names, nationalities, and numbers (1–100), syllables & tones, dates, family and birthday is recommended. Course Highlights:

Learn key topics: family and pets, phone numbers, time, jobs and explore the Chinese Zodiac (i.e. say which zodiac animal you are based on your birth year and ask others about theirs)

Improve your spoken Chinese through interactive, communicative activities

Enjoy personalized one-on-one speaking practice with the teacher

Try writing and typing Chinese characters

Reinforce Chinese syllables & tones through songs, ancient poetry, and playful tongue twisters

 

By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:

Introduce yourself, your family, pets, and friends

Hold long conversations on daily topics

Master Chinese syllables and tones
